Period of black humour in Kerala

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan engages in black humor. The latest instance involves the decision to extend good service entry to the policemen who provided commendable security arrangements for the Navakeralasadas led by him. This decision follows widespread criticism of the police for their brutal actions during the NavaKeralaSadas events and the Chief Minister's defense of these actions. A Chief Judicial Magistrate court had to order the filing of a criminal case against the Chief Minister's gunmen for unlawfully assaulting protesting Youth Congress workers in Alleppey district. In a surprising turn, the police have also filed criminal conspiracy cases against some media persons. The decision to extend good service entry to the policemen ,in fact ,elicited humorous laghter among many rather than creating astonishment..
